The Lincoln Woodstock Chamber of Commerce newest event held over Memorial Day Weekend. MountainFest is a celebration of the mountain way of life. New England Disabled Sports booth seem to have the most interest by the passing public. Locals and tourist were fascinated by all the new high-teck biking equipment.

The new trusses arrive and are starting to be installed, all 400 of them. Are you sure the big one goes here? This is like Christmas Eve and you got your family the best gift ever, but the fine print said, some assembly required, It’ going to be a long night.

The crew has been working hard for the day that the new roof truss system arrived. New support post around the building. Preping the old roof.

Rainbow over our new home

This is not doctored, there was a rainbow after last nights rain and as a good photographer I do follow rainbows to get the shot. There could have been more sun light but you can see the sevenfold red, orange, yellow green blue indigo and violet just above our new space.

The rainbow's appearance is caused by dispersion of sunlight as it goes through raindrops. The light is first refracted as it enters the surface of the raindrop, reflected off the back of the drop, and again refracted as it leaves the drop. The overall effect is that the incoming light is reflected back over a wide range of angles, with the most intense light at an angle of 40°–42°. The angle is independent of the size of the drop, but does depend on its refractive index.

So keep looking up after the rain best at the end of the day.

The floor is down and all the windows existing building have been covered. The walkway around the building is being back filled.

The stairway to the basement is in, and there is a big space for the new elevator.

This week we made a lot of progress, and I will update the site a few more times today. First is the new floor in the basement.

The Mud Arrives

Today they finished putting up all the forms. At 1:30 the trucks started to arrive with the concrete. It took about two and a half hours to get it all in place. They will strip the forms in the AM and move on to the next steps.

They find these stones everywhere. Nothing that they could not move yet so no problem.

The digging took a few days but we have moved on to the next step and we now have a footing. They will start the foundation next. I will try to post more but it may not be about the new building. We visit the site every day but it took several days to dig. The photos did not change much over past few days. We are making progress every day. Next they will re-route the road. After the foundation is up then sealed and insulation they can then finish the pluming. They need the walls up so the can back fill to support the pluming. The water line is under a lot of pressure and need to be supported and blocked in place. All new pipe and fitting are being installed and should last the life of the building

Digging goes on

After a long day of digging it only took a few minuets to fill the new basement hole with water from a miss place water main. The water was shut off by Lincoln DPW and the 6 inch main was plugged. It will be rerouted tomorrow.

Three new manholes were laid out to reroute the main sewer line. One will be right at the Stake just out side the new foundation.

Ryan was going to jump right in, but we talked him out of it.

Day two AM: The main sewer line the white pipe and the sewer from the original building in green will need to be moved to make room for our new basement. That will entail moving one or more manholes that the main sewer line runs through. You can only have a change in direction of the main sewer line at a manhole.
